Skovbund Shawl. The Beginning.
Recently, I wrote a post about Knitting for Olive yarn and my plans to knit the Skovbund shawl. I’ve started knitting and want to share my first impressions of the process.
To say that I like it is an understatement. Even though the process isn’t the easiest and, in fact, this is my first shawl, it’s absolutely relaxing.
Yes, I have to look at the pattern, count stitches, and keep track of the design, but all of this blends so smoothly into the process that it brings nothing but pleasure.
Fibertales has created the perfect shawl pattern. Indeed, pattern encourages slow knitting and promises a special, very beautiful result in the end.
And that’s exactly how I’m knitting – not rushing, not trying to outpace myself (I’m always in a hurry with socks), just enjoying every row.
Moreover, Knitting for Olive yarn – I can’t imagine another option for this project. It’s so soft, gentle, and weightless. I’m sure that the combination of merino and mohair will make this shawl something very special.
In conclusion, knitting the Skovbund shawl with Knitting for Olive yarn is a rewarding experience. It requires attention to detail and patience. However, the meditative nature of this project makes it worthwhile. The combination of merino and mohair yarn adds unmatched luxury and softness.
For those looking for a new knitting project, I highly recommend this shawl pattern. You will create something beautiful and enjoy the journey of slow, mindful knitting.
Happy knitting!
