Knitting Men’s Size 46 Socks: Finally Done

I think my Instagram followers must be tired of my grumbling about knitting men’s size 46 socks. I’ve been going on and on about how whoever invented this size must never have knit a sock in their life! The truth is, I’m all about fast projects—I can’t stay hooked for too long or I lose interest. That’s why I stick with gloves, mittens, and, of course, socks. But then, as you might have guessed, someone asked me to knit men’s socks in size 46…

Yarn Choice & Endless Rows

For this project, I picked Arwetta Classic from Filcolana, in the lovely shade Slate Green (color 105). This yarn is slightly thinner than typical sock yarn, even though it’s 4-ply. So, I cast on 80 stitches with my 2.0 mm needles and started knitting. And knitting. And knitting. Honestly, it felt like these socks would never end!

Along the way, I learned that every chart online seems to have a different measurement for foot length in this size🤦‍♀️ I can’t say I expected this sock journey to feel so endless, but here we are. The good news is, they’re finally finished and ready to be shipped to Riga!
