March Check-In: Knitting, Books & A Bit of Life
How on earth did we end up in March? Wasn’t it just Christmas? I mean, I was literally just wrapping and photographing the last Christmas orders… and now suddenly, here we are, three months into the year, diving into new knitting projects and endless audiobooks.
Well, I won’t argue with reality—it’s not my style. Besides, March and I have a special connection. I’m not entirely sure that being born in March was the best idea, but since no one asked me at the time, here we are. In any case, there are still a couple of weeks before that particular event, and that’s not what I came here to talk about today.
Every time I open my website, I tell myself I’ll write more often. After all, I did say I’d share thoughts about life in Finland, books (which I devour in absurd quantities) and, of course, knitting. And yet, somehow, I write… nothing.
Well, today, that changes.

I did mention that it’s March, right? But before you start picturing blooming flowers and chirping birds—hold on. This morning, I woke up to a light snowfall. So let’s not get too excited about spring just yet.
Instead, let’s talk about something that makes long winter days cozier—books. Or rather, audiobooks. I’m still listening to them non-stop, and so far this year, my virtual shelf holds 18 finished titles. I’d love to go into detail, but let’s be real—this topic deserves its own post. (Will I actually write it? Hopefully.)
Knitting: Now This Is Where Things Are Happening
One thing I haven’t been slacking on is knitting. I knit. A lot. And I love every minute of it.
This year, I’ve already released the So Dijon Socks pattern and another one – So Tiny Knits – is launching on Monday. The next one will be free, but just as detailed as my paid ones. And honestly? I could keep writing knitting patterns forever.
The whole process excites me—coming up with ideas, knitting, writing up the pattern, filming tutorials, editing videos, adding subtitles (yep, I’m the type who writes captions instead of doing voiceovers). It’s a lot, but I love every part of it. And there are so many more projects ahead.
Speaking of which—here’s what’s been on my needles these past couple of months.
As always, you can find my latest projects over on my Instagram.

The Never-Ending Website Tweaks
Another thing that can completely consume me? This website.
Last year, I installed WordPress for the first time and started cautiously poking around. And, well… I liked it. Yes, I’m figuring things out through trial and error, yes, I redo things a hundred times, and no, it doesn’t always work right away. But I love the process.
The real danger? Losing track of time. I’ll open WP just to check my site stats, and the next thing I know, it’s the middle of the night, and I’m deep into some article about SEO that I had no intention of reading.
Let’s See If This Writing Streak Lasts
I’ll try to write here more often—and maybe even more structurally, instead of the chaotic rambling you just witnessed.
No promises, though.
