Fog Socks and Arwetta Classic Again

I finished knitting the second pair of socks with this pattern. I used the lane_socks pattern by by_ignatova.knit (Instagram) again. The first pair was a real struggle for me. It was the first time I knitted socks so slowly. My hands were uncomfortable, and I could only knit a few rows a day. Several times, I was ready to unravel everything and forget about it. But I finished them, partly because the result, despite all my struggles, turned out beautifully. The pattern is striking and looks very stylish. The fabric is elastic, and the socks fit perfectly. So, I finished them but promised myself not to return to this pattern. Here’s how they turned out:

And then, a couple of months later, I found myself knitting these socks again, and this time I enjoyed it. Yes, I still knitted them quite slowly, but for different reasons: I started making this website, got fully immersed in WordPress, then got sick and couldn’t do anything at all. Yesterday, I finally finished them. And in my humble opinion, they look great!

  • Yarn: 80% merino wool, 20% nylon
  • Cast-on: 78 stitches
  • ChiaoGoo needles: cast-on and first rows with 2.5 mm, the rest with 2.0 mm
  • Reinforced heel with gusset
  • Toe: 23 rows, kitchener stitch

And once again, my favorite yarn, Arwetta Classic by the Danish brand Filcolana. The first pair was in the shade Nougat melange 973, and this pair is in the shade Oatmeal melange 978.

Happy knitting!

Your socks look beautiful. Is the lane sock pattern available in English? Do you have a link?

    Thanks!

Kelly, thank you so much! Unfortunately, the Lane sock pattern is only available in Russian, and the author hasn’t responded to inquiries about translating it. I could translate it, but without the author’s permission, I wouldn’t be able to share the translation 🙁
