The Scrappy Baglet is less about knitting one particular bag and more about giving you a basic construction that you can play with

You can make the Scrappy Baglet in almost any size, depending on what you want to use it for. The yarn is flexible too – fingering weight works well, but other yarns can be used depending on the size and feel you want. Stripes, scraps and a strand of mohair are all easy ways to make each one a little different.

Size & Gauge

There is no fixed size and no fixed gauge.

The pattern explains how to calculate your cast-on stitch count from your own gauge and the width you want your finished baglet to be. The only requirement is that the cast-on stitch count is divisible by 4.

This means you can use fingering weight yarn as a starting point, or experiment with other yarn weights depending on the kind of baglet you want to make.

The pattern includes links to 10 video tutorials covering the parts that are easier to understand when you can actually see them being worked.

The videos are not narrated; all instructions are provided as on-screen captions. QR codes linking to all tutorials are also included at the end of the pattern.

Techniques

Crochet provisional cast-on, knitting in the round, Magic Loop, picot hem, m1 increases, double knitting / hollow ribbing, yarn overs, decreases, Kitchener stitch and I-cord.
